Cabbage

Cabbage is categorized as a cruciferous vegetable. Although sometimes mistakenly grouped with lettuce and other leafy greens due to their similar appearance, cabbage is distinctively part of the Brassicaceae family, also known as Cruciferae. This family includes a variety of vegetables used for food production, such as cauliflower, kale, garden cress, bok choy, broccoli, Brussels sprouts, and mustard plants, alongside cabbage.

In terms of taxonomy, cabbage is identified as Brassica oleracea, with several variations like B. oleracea var. capitata, var. tuba, var. sabauda, or var. acephala. These variations contribute to the diverse types and forms of cabbage cultivated and consumed globally
