MCC Projects
Manger Care Centre has various projects all over Gauteng; main areas of operation are Benoni, Etwatwa, Daveyton, Tshwane and Uitzicht.
These communities are highly influenced by poverty, unemployment, high incidences of crime and most of them are categorized as rural. They are hugely impacted by HIV/AIDS and as a result have a high number of orphaned, vulnerable, and child-headed households. These societal dysfunctions produce a high number of unskilled persons. This decreases access to the already limited employment opportunities. Many of the community members turn to alcohol, drugs, and crime in order to survive. Another consequence of this lack of opportunity and negative social impacts manifests in abuse, rape, violence and crime. It is these lost members of society that Manger Care Centre strives to assist and uplift. Our main beneficiaries are abused woman and children, substance abusers (addicts), convicts, the unemployed, the homeless, disabled persons as well as elderly people that are unable to care for themselves.

Work Place re-integration (Contracts) | Work Place re-integration (Contracts)Reintegration refers to the process of transitioning from a state in which an individual was not a functioning member of society into a state where the individual controls and directs their own life. There are several factors that contribute to successful reintegration. They include:
Each factor has its own challenges to overcome. Manger Care Centre Reintegration department has successfully established partnerships that redresses the above challenges. Our partnerships with business have established employment opportunities for those needing to be re-integrated back into society. Our employee offering is one of honesty and integrity – we screen our beneficiaries and share not only their skills set with business partners but allow our business partners to make decisions around our beneficiary pools social circumstances which is known. They know exactly what they let them in for, and have no unrealistic expectations. Permanent work placement will be an option after a period of supervised and monitored employment. Skill sets are identified and placement negotiated. We identify and anticipate our business partner’s needs, engaging in constant site visits, telephonic support, transport of beneficiaries to their place of work and the completion of weekly supervisor’s reports. Our partnership with the Department of Correctional services provides also for opportunity for skills acquired during incarceration to be utilized. Manger Care Centre has established a model community at Eden which acts as a halfway house/support system offering an opportunity to not only to offenders, who meet all the requirements to be placed on parole but do not have fixed addresses that can be monitored to which they can return to in communities. Such offenders’ potential to re-offend is limited because they are given a second chance to experience a home-like environment and to re-integrate them as law abiding citizens back into communities. If the conditions of the parole agreement are violated, the individual may be returned to the correctional facility and subject to additional penalties. Our beneficiaries entering our support system through normal admission channels have the same opportunity to experience a home-like environment and to become functional members of society again. All of our new beneficiaries need to attend basic financial training upon admission. All prospective permanent placements needs to prove financial stability to prospective employers providing them with a permanent address, receipt of deposit paid for rental of accommodation and a budget relating to their salary offered. Whilst in our care beneficiaries earn a stipend as volunteer workers based on a grading system allowing them to save towards financial stability and take care of their basic needs not provided by the Centre. Our post rehabilitation programs provide our beneficiaries with the necessary tools to continue to remain substance-free, once they have completed the post-rehab program and have re-entered into society, as after care programs. Upon permanent placement a progress report and screening tests are provided to prospective employers. Spiritual needs are addressed not only through our church services but also through our faith based recovery programs. Psychological and Emotional wellbeing are evaluated by peers and management weekly and our professional and trained counsellors ensure that wellbeing is a service offering at the centre with access to healthcare if needs are identified. Feel free to contact Meloney Bouwer on 011 747 8700 or 083 745 7502, alternatively drop her email meloney.bouwer@mangercare.co.za should you have employment opportunities to place our beneficiaries. We have various businesses that we go to and negotiate with them to employ our beneficiaries at a set rate. If the business is happy with the prescribed rates we then place all our people in the work contract. We transport them from the centre to the places of work as well as collect them on a daily basis. |
